This 80s movie is about two clumsy government workers who end up involved in international spying without realizing it. They are supposed to do a fake mission to distract from a real secret operation, but they get caught up in a tangle of secrets and run-ins with KGB agents. Their journey takes them from dangerous places in Afghanistan to the cold lands of the Soviet Union.
The movie is not just about the chemistry between the main actors but also makes fun of spy movie clichés from the '80s. It cleverly makes fun of the political situation at the time and gives a lighthearted look at the worries of the Cold War. By adding humor to the serious world of spying, the film pokes fun at both political games and the typical spy movie ideas.
